About
“Storytelling is the most powerful way to put ideas into the world today.”
Isabel is a storyteller, art director, and yoga instructor. She is a Visual Information Specialist at the Smithsonian Institution Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, where she designs and develops exhibitions through the planning and implementation phases. Her recent work includes the Laurie Anderson: The Weather exhibition and the launch of the Museum’s virtual exhibition It’s Art If I Say So: The Legacy of Duchamp throughout the Hirshhorn Collection, a virtual companion to the in-gallery “Marcel Duchamp: The Barbara and Aaron Levine Collection” exhibition. When you don’t find her at the museum, you can find her on her mat teaching yoga.
Isabel has been practicing yoga for more than a third of her life. Her priority as a yoga instructor has been to create a compassionate and inclusive space for all to explore their physical landscape and prana as a portal into the inner dimension. She teaches flows on the breath count and encourages and guides students to respectfully listen to their body. Storytelling is a thread of the experience in which she creates a nourishing space for students to intentionally reflect through their personal journey, blossoming into the best version of themselves.
Deeply embedded in Isabel’s passion in designing products and environments is one that responds to the physical, social well-being, and intellectual diversity. Whether it is designing exhibitions to visually communicate the themes and stories or instructing yoga, she leads with purpose and seeks to cultivate meaningful experiences that resonate to the heart.
